  1. Hi Carol

    Overall Score - 16/20

Such a great first effort for your film project, well done! A few things here that you can do better next time to get better grades in the suspense aspect of your film opening.

    - Sound (dialogue) seems really fuzzy and distorted in classroom scenes, was that purposeful? Seems a bit distracting.
    - Match on action needs to be a little bit smoother - match the action from the one shot to the next, at whatever point Kevin is walking in the door, when the shot changes, make the next shot from the same point
    - Bathroom scenes are very well done. Angles, lighting, shadows are all great and well though- out
    - I like that you played around with jump cuts. Your use of them needs to be very carefully done so that the audience can really track with the narrative and not get too lost. Interesting that you never chose to use any of the pushing / violence shots that were taking place in the darkness of Kevin's mind.
    - using black and white for the dark thoughts Kevin has, works really well
    - I like that you left the ending unresolved - that end shot and the sound effect is very effective
    - Your challenge would be to really work on suspense-building. You had a few elements here where if you dragged out the shot duration a bit, added in more sound effects that really had a disturbing / dark feel to them, and focused more on the dark side of this character, could have really ramped up the suspense
    - sound track also needs to shift at a certain point. For me it would have been where the character is walking down the passage to the bathroom. That could have done with a different, more intense sound track
    - getting different shots of the suspenseful moments (close-ups and more intense shots of Kevin walking behind / stalking your character, would have been really great)!
    - credits need to be following the codes and conventions for movies and need to be in line with what you see when you watch the end of a movie (scrolling/ listed cast members and roles)
